An understanding of the complexities of learning to spell, and an appreciation of why students often do not transfer the words they learn in the classroom into their stories.
Participants will have the opportunity to trial at least 4 different spelling techniques to take back to their classes. They will also cover a creative writing structure that can be used to support any students’ creative writing skills.
- Identifying the complex skills needed for spelling and writing
- Gaining an understanding of the challenges for students who find spelling difficult
- Exploring and using a variety of spelling techniques to support learners of different learning styles
- Applying a creative writing structure that can be transferred to any classroom (primary or secondary)
Target audience: Teachers, teaching assistants and supply teachers – Primary and Secondary.
