Discussion around the structure and organisation of the school and where participants fit in to that structure. What personal skills and qualities should an effective teaching assistant possess?

Practical examples of behaviour management strategies along with reflection upon behavioural theory and related tasks.

The opportunity to look at useful strategies, practical resources and websites to support and motivate pupils.

  • To explore the roles and responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant.
  • An introduction to promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging behaviour
  • Strategies to support lower ability groups/Special Educational Needs

Please note that your school budget share will be debited on ledger code 7926 up to two weeks prior to attendance at this course, in line with the cancellation policy.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Course location, programme and any course materials will normally be sent to you prior to the start of the course. All cancellations must be sent in writing as soon as the applicant is aware that they are unable to attend. If the cancellation is received 6 weeks (or 30 working days) or more prior to the start of the course, cancellation will be free of charge. If the cancellation is received between 6 weeks and two weeks (10 working days) prior to the start of the course a cancellation charge of 50% of the course fee will apply. If the cancellation is received after this point a cancellation charge of 100% of the course fee will apply. Exeter Consortium has the right to amend or cancel any courses as a result of unforeseen circumstances.
