This 2 hour course / presentation will help delegates recognise their roles in safeguarding children from harm, understand categories of abuse and know how to respond to child welfare concerns. 

It is the responsibility of schools and other settings to ensure all staff, volunteers and governors, whose work brings them either   into direct contact with children who would be regarded as trusted adults by virtue of the fact they are seen regularly, must undertake this basic Safeguarding Awareness training on a 3 yearly basis. 

This session includes a delegate's handbook for completion after the training of your own practices and understanding. The presentation looks at relevant updates, local and national Issues and good practice.

Please note that your school budget share will be debited on ledger code 7926 up to two weeks prior to attendance at this course, in line with the cancellation policy.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Course location, programme and any course materials will normally be sent to you prior to the start of the course. All cancellations must be sent in writing as soon as the applicant is aware that they are unable to attend. If the cancellation is received 6 weeks (or 30 working days) or more prior to the start of the course, cancellation will be free of charge. If the cancellation is received between 6 weeks and two weeks (10 working days) prior to the start of the course a cancellation charge of 50% of the course fee will apply. If the cancellation is received after this point a cancellation charge of 100% of the course fee will apply. Exeter Consortium has the right to amend or cancel any courses as a result of unforeseen circumstances.
