QUOTES FROM TRAINEES
From the get go, I was certain that Exeter Consortium was the provider to work with. From the initial interview process to now, they have been nothing short of incredible. We, as students, are constantly well supported and have our achievements celebrated regardless of how small they may seem to us.
I was matched perfectly with my mentor, and feel that this course has pushed me to be the best version of myself. I would absolutely urge people to apply to this course, I don’t think I’d be where I am now if it wasn’t for the Exeter Consortium team!
Lucy, Primary School Direct (5-11) 2021/22 Trainee
As an older entrant into the ITT process I was very concerned that I would find it difficult to cope with the demands of studying at the same time as working in school. The support I received both from the staff at Exeter Consortium and in my placement schools was excellent and quickly put my mind at ease. There was always someone available to help me through my difficulties, despite my lack of confidence with some of the technology and the record keeping processes involved!
The move into lockdown at the end of the spring term, which could have been extremely stressful, was handled so professionally by the staff at Exeter Consortium that the training programme continued without interruption. At every stage of my training year I felt valued and supported a feeling that has continued beyond the training year and has included help in obtaining an NQT post. I cannot recommend Exeter Consortium ITT highly enough.
QUOTES FROM TEACHERS AND SCHOOL LEADERS
Our [Exeter Consortium] trainee has been really exceptional during the last couple of weeks as we have struggled with staff shortages. Last week, she stepped in to cover an afternoon in the year 4/5 class with almost no notice. She was so adaptable in creating a lesson at the last minute and the children's outcomes were fantastic and better than we would hope for with a supply teacher in class.
She has been incredibly flexible, positive, professional and calm throughout the last couple of weeks (and all of the term) and is someone I would very happily consider to work at school!
Alice Purcell, Headteacher at Ide Primary School
We recently interviewed several Early Years trainees from a range of providers for an Early Years post. The quality of the trainees from Exeter Consortium, in terms of depth of knowledge, practical experiences and their ability to articulate their learning was outstanding. The candidates were able to apply their learning from the course exceptionally well in the interviews.
We had no hesitation in shortening the field to the Exeter Consortium candidates and then had great difficulty in deciding which of these trainees to appoint. All in all, it was clear that the course is significantly strong in preparing Early Years teachers for entry into the profession.
