Through these bespoke CPD sessions, you and your setting/school can stay connected with the national agenda and be fully briefed on all the latest developments in early years and beyond. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with colleagues from other schools and settings, to share and access advice and support from the Early Excellence team. The day will be split into two parts: AM Session (09:30 - 12:00) National Update Session – for School Leaders, EYFS Leads and KS1 Leads PM Session (13:00 - 15:30) EYFS Leaders Session Cost: Free for SWIFT members schools (Full Day) /£100 per person for non-member schools (Full Day)

Community Lead Ruhaina Alford is the Executive Headteacher of The Carey Federation in Devon. Previously, Ruhaina has held senior leader positions in a variety of schools in London. Many young people on the autistic spectrum also experience high levels of anxiety which can present as a barrier to learning. High levels of anxiety can greatly impact on accessing educational settings, despite a child being very academically able. This course will aim to explain the causes of autism related anxiety, and how anxiety is expressed. It will aim to share experiences of supporting a child with high levels of anxiety, and provide strategies for supporting a child through their anxieties.
