They began working with a few Exeter schools over the last couple of years but are keen to reach out to more.
In the first instance they are keen to set up some one hour Dementia Friends sessions with the children, and/or staff and parents. The sessions are interactive with resources for 6-16 year olds and can be integrated into a number of lesson plans creating greater understanding of dementia. The feedback from the children and teachers has been incredible and has made a real difference. The alliance have been honoured to deliver a number of sessions, most recently reaching 70, 8-11 year olds over 3 separate 45 minute slots at Cranbrook Education Campus.
